Can't see uploads in statistics

Hi there,

I am seeding a torrent through the BakaBT tracker, but I don't see any increase in my uploads. Is there perhaps a time delay between uploading and the statistics?

I did the upload "by hand", in order to up my botched ratio. I thought it is sufficient to BakaBT tracker to my tracker list like this:

http://tracker.bakabt.me:2710/<passkey>/announce.php

Is this correct?

Any input is highly appreciated.

Oh, I see. It says "Failure: Unregistered torrent".

So now what? Is it possible for me to seed files I obtained in another way? I worked through the FAQ and the Wiki, but I found them fairly obtuse.

The torrent may have been swapped or removed, search if it still exists and download it from the site.

I actually figured it out. I thought I was not allowed to download torrents from BakaMT, but I was. I simply downloaded the torrent and let it point to the new download directory, and it's working now.

For future reference, nothing is stopping you from downloading .torrent files. The tracker only prevents you from downloading the data in the torrent while you are warned.

And for future reference, don't do tracker edits like that with a torrent you pulled off some other tracker, because the torrents created here hash differently.

Right now I see a big difference between what uTorrent states I uploaded, and what the site statistics show. The latter are about 700 Mb lower now. Is this normal?

It's become better after a while. It looks updates are just very slow...

It does seem to get worse now. My stats are now consistently dragging almost 2Gb behind what is mentioned in uTorrent.

Some discrepancy (up to 25% or so) is normal. It's also normal for this discrepancy to be more exaggerated during the site-wide freeleech period, which is happening right now, due to heavier traffic during this period. If you see any seed discrepancy, you should expect your leech statistics to show similar differences, percentage-wise.

The exact cause for any discrepancy can rarely be determined because there are many factors that play a part in the cause.
