I just finished watching it and I liked it somewhat but can someone please explain the ending? I just didn't get what the hell was going on.

I rewatched the ending and gave it some more thought and I think I now have the gist of it.If it is how I think it is then it's a crappy ending.Way crappier than I thought it was without understanding it.
The thing that bothered me most was :
(click to show/hide)I couldn't understand why Layla leaves Nei.13 of episodes of love for Nei and she just leaves.Why?
I decided it's because Nei became Mars while Layla was the Moon and because of the history of those 2.
Humans were born on Earth and then some of them moved to the Moon.A while later some people from the Moon moved to Mars.Those people were nurtured and cared for like children by Moon and their filthy dozen.Moon being Layla and her child being Mars-Nei.Once Volk started dying-the father letting the child  support itself-water came rushing out.Water that  is essential for life on the planet-Nei's sexual maturity.The father left and so must the mother.Bye Bye Layla.

Which is why it's a crap ending.

Also,Ares is Mars in greek mythology,Volk means people in Danish and I do not know about Vesta nor do I care.
