Personally, I intend to give them the benefit of the doubt. Yes, changing the director and composer are not good signs, and the purist in me doesn't like the change in character design either.
But I highly doubt they're stupid enough to do anything with such a beloved franchise other than to try their hardest to create the best anime they can, as close to the original artistic vision as possible - so while it may be the case that the change in staff end up ruining it, it might not. It may or may not be different in style to previous series, but there's no way to come to any conclusions based on what they've revealed so far. I'm looking forward to seeing it, and seeing what they do with it.
As for the new character design, they haven't shown enough of it for me to decide whether it's actually worse or not. So, again, I'm going to wait to see more before I judge it.
Realistically, people were always going to pounce on the smallest possible changes and immediately declare it to be a pile of shit, greedy remake for the sole purpose of cashing in on a beloved franchise. Those people are idiots. It is impossible to judge this show at all at this point, with so little information. If you're going to start drawing hasty conclusions, at least wait until there's something to draw conclusions from.
