I swear to god, if The Major gets embarrased by something sexual even once and blushes I'm gonna feel like killing all of Japan for allowing this to happen. It'll be the final nail in the coffin of anime for me.

Gits, the ecchi high school comedy. Watch the young Batou and Motoko deal with raging teen hormones and perfect immortal cyborg bodies!  Accidental boob grabs and up skirts a plenty!  ;D

Me? I'm not. I'm more than happy to express my disappointment though. ;D

Personally, I intend to give them the benefit of the doubt. Yes, changing the director and composer are not good signs, and the purist in me doesn't like the change in character design either.

But I highly doubt they're stupid enough to do anything with such a beloved franchise other than to try their hardest to create the best anime they can, as close to the original artistic vision as possible - so while it may be the case that the change in staff end up ruining it, it might not. It may or may not be different in style to previous series, but there's no way to come to any conclusions based on what they've revealed so far. I'm looking forward to seeing it, and seeing what they do with it.

As for the new character design, they haven't shown enough of it for me to decide whether it's actually worse or not. So, again, I'm going to wait to see more before I judge it.

Realistically, people were always going to pounce on the smallest possible changes and immediately declare it to be a pile of shit, greedy remake for the sole purpose of cashing in on a beloved franchise. Those people are idiots. It is impossible to judge this show at all at this point, with so little information. If you're going to start drawing hasty conclusions, at least wait until there's something to draw conclusions from.

Did you watch Eureka 7? Did you then watch Eureka 7 Ao?

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

I watched Eureka 7. It was the worst anime I had ever seen in my life. I went on to actually delete it from my HDD... a terrible fate reserved for only a total of two godawful animes, itself included.

So no, no I haven't watched Eureka 7 Ao.

Do you feel so important that any question is supposed to be directed at you?

Nope, never seen either. Don't really have any intention of doing so, either.

Considering 9 of the 43 replies are me, taking up the majority of the 2nd and 3rd pages, it's a reasonable assumption, especially considering what I've been talking about.

...not to mention how this just transpired...

So no, to answer your question. It only seemed logical.

in all honesty, the fact that people are making a storm in a teacup related to something that doesn't even have a trailer yet is the best in this thread.

comical even.

I watched both. The original was great, the plot seemed to advance in some way with every episode. E7 AO on the other hand started out nice, but once the quartz gun came into play everything turned to shit, then at the end they commit a time impossibility

which in both single universe and multiverse theory is impossible (they kept switching around between the two through the show...).
Seinen and Slice of Life cannot describe the same title, because daily life is too boring to be called a plot. Ecchi/fanservice is not plot either.

Smart. They either couldn't get enough funds for an entire season or they are treading waters to see the reception to the new look.

I wasn't a fan of the first change of hair and pupil colour either, but this art style looks even worse.
Why can't they stick to the original design, with black hair and light blue eyes?

Well, it hasn't aired yet. I don't know why I said that. Yes, I do. AniDB told me that this is the air date: "22.06.2013".

Disregard my post.

several reasons: personal taste of the production or directors, demographics, maybe something about uncanny valley (while interesting, I always thought Motoko was a bit... odd)

I guess the phenomenon about how characters need to be generic in order for (most) people to emphasize with them is true after all, even if the creators may risk being criticised for being lazy.
