Utorrent 3.2.3?
« on: January 16, 2013, 06:43:30 AM »
It is showing that it is on the white list here.
http://wiki.bakabt.me/index.php/BT_Clients#Whitelist

I was previously using an older version until about 4 hours ago when my windows8 decided my preview was over.  =/  I went ahead and downloaded a new copy of Utorrent after a reformat. Grabbed all my torrents and got them all ready to go, but I have all red bars.

Any tips?  Should I just go get an older version or is this some new special thing with the release client for win8 that I don't know about and need to play with?

could you at least be so kind and check the "status" message for the tracker on your clients "trackers" tab?
it's really hard to troubleshoot a problem without the most basic information.

Then it's not a whitelist issue - it does sound like it may be an issue with your firewall or antivirus, though. There have been reports of similar problems running Avast antivirus in windows 8, and I think Avira has caused issues with utorrent as well. If you have either of those installed, try uninstalling them (if doing so solves the issue, make sure to install a good replacement, of course). Or if you use a different program, try disabling it temporarily to see if that helps the issue.

Yea.... I woke up and looked at his post about tracker status and felt like an idiot.  >.>  Took me a minute still too.  I had posted it said seeding....

I have it working, sorry for the derp.

It appears to have been avast which gave me no grief on the win8 preview.  ><

Win8 for free from school has crashed 8 times since last night whenever I don't install something in compatibility mode.  ><  The preview client never crashed on me...
