evangelion : the diff b/w series and movies(new)

if there was only one out of the two
then which one should be recommended the original evangelion series or the new movie quadrilogy?
cuz people r saying there is a difference in plot development between the two.

You will appreciate both more that way.

if you have to watch one only then watch the movies
just don't make my mistake of watching the movies first then wanting to finish the series, it would have worked better the other way round

they are different enough to not get bored watching both

also don't bother with episodes 25/26 watch end of evangelion instead


also if you watch the series you won't have to wait 4 years to finish it, and you wont ruin the end of the movies because by the second one the story has already drastically branched

Haven't watched the series, but from some interviews from producer, they said the movie is going to have a different ending and there might even be one or more new Eva units.

I have only watched the movies, since I don't have much time to spare thanks to my studies. Also the fact the animation is pretty old style, I am kinda reluctant to watch it. Any opinions on this matter would be helpful.

Watch the series, skip rebuild movies, they're terrible.

Watch the series, then the rebuild movies... you'll be able to appreciate some similarities between the end of the series and the beginning of the rebuilds; plus they were all awesome.

I would definitely recommend watching the series, it can be a bit slow at first but picks up a lot of pace near the end, its worth it just to watch end of evangelion which is one of my favourite anime movies

As I said only need to watch 1-24 and end of evangelion

only thing to take from episode 25-26 was a single mention of the human instrumentality project , you find out in end of eva but it helped to know all the way through
the rest of those episodes are very overused shots of characters in the dark asking stuff like 'who am i?'

Gotta watch the series! all tho it can be over hyped and also over criticised it is one of the best IMO.

So far have seen the 1st rebuild movie. That's great too! But watch the series first.
