Seeding a Torrent
(1/1)
kirbyzzz:
Hi!
Before I start, yes I read the FAQs, and tried what it said, reread the FAQs another 5 times to check what I did, and tried it again, but thing's just aren't working out. It's most likely due to my lack of tech savvy.
I have a bunch of torrents already downloaded from the past from bakabt, but I never really worried about seeding because I had seeded a whole lot months before so I felt my ratio was fine. So every time I downloaded anything new, after completion I would just delete the entry in uTorrent. However, today I am endangered by my low ratio. I could just download something and seed the new torrent, but I feel that would be wasteful when I have all these other files that I could seed and some of them are popular so they would seed more reliably.
However, the problem is when I use the method the FAQs mention of redownloading the torrent into the same folder, the torrent doesn't go to 100% completion. It just makes a new folder in the folder which I designated it to be located in and downloads all the episodes of the anime as if I never had downloaded it in the first place. Am I just mistaken to believe that if I had the files already, redownloading them into the same folder would be instantaneous, or at least considerably faster (in cases of missing files or such)?

You are so very close to the solution. Once you know what it is, you might hit yourself.
Anyway, this post should solve your problem.
Tiffanys:
You have to add the torrent as paused or stopped then force a recheck, otherwise it'll do that.
Here are some easy instructions...
1. Remove the torrent from your client.
2. Add the torrent to your client again disabling starting the download automatically, this time setting the location to the present location it is in. Make sure you start it as paused or stopped. There should be a setting for this - if you don't it'll start overwriting your already completed files.
3. Now do a force re-check.

Thank you so much Kira!
I was just locating it in the wrong folder.
Time to regain a decent ratio again :)
Thanks a bunch~
