Ergo Proxy, Ghost in the Shell, .hack//sign, Akira, Bokurano, and anything by Koji Yamamura might be worth a look for you.

btw when you say GHOST IN THE SHELL you mean both the movies and series
cuz movie was amazing (only the first one though) but never really gave any shots to the series

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex was pretty good. You should check it out whatever the case. I wouldn't by any means call it a mind fuck, but it was a really good series nonetheless.

I double recommend Ergo Proxy, Paranoia agent and paprika.

And recommend Shin Sekai Yori, one of the best anime I have ever (ongoing) watched.
