nah, you don't really need a breadboard to mount them evenly, with the proper solderworks you can mount them evenly.
the first one is much more easier to attain, even without soldering, just twisting their joints works since they're stiff as heck.
edit: a simple diffuser such as frosted plastic works to make the lit area even.
bloody genius...
edit2: waxpaper works as well, and they're cheap as heck, potentially free if you got some on your kitchen.
edit3: i almost forgot, sanding the top of the led into flat~ish will act as a semi-diffuser, at the very least it won't look like a donut into your wall/ceiling.
