It has nothing to do with the Nexus 4 in particular.

I use smartphones. I just don't have one currently because due to certain circumstances I have no use for one right now. I also don't care how they look, I care about the functionality. It's kinda stupid how you asked that just so you could scoff down at me.

A keyboard isn't about looks either, it's functionality.

The reason that the same argument applies to basically all of the recent smartphones is that they've done absolutely nothing impressive.

I didn't ask you anything. You're probably confusing me with someone else in the thread.

I think it's worth considering the possibility that you're just not the intended audience for these things, rather than it being some sort of failing for the basic physical design.

These things are driven by software. More powerful hardware means more powerful software. If you just need a device to easily text, call, etc., then nothing wrong with that, but physical keyboards and the like are design tradeoffs that many would prefer not to have to make when a keyboard means less room for hardware or screen-space.

That said, there's the upcoming Blackberry Q10 that might be more to your liking.

I considered it, but it was my first phone purchase and the Nexus 4 was inconsistently available until shortly after I bought my S3. The lack of an SD slot was kinda offputting too.

Tiffanys:
The initial design was fine, back in 2007. It just hasn't seen any innovation since. The market has stagnated with it. I don't believe it's the pinnacle of cellular achievement. It's been 5 years. Okay, it's time for something new.

That Blackberry is about like every other blackberry. Tiny screen, tiny keyboard. Kinda worthless... HTC Desire-Z is the last one I liked...

I'm honestly not away from my computer enough to have it be anything more than an amusement. Hell, even my phone spends most of the day plugged into my computer.

But for what it's worth, when you're not devoting much of the case design to the protective shell or a physical keyboard, you can get a rather large screen for a device you hold a few inches from your face.

When you're at work and you got shit to do ... what do you do? ... Yea, that's what I do! Fuck yea anime! And Nexus 4. Both deserve a lot of love.

So is it just me and South that purchased Nexus 4? Shame on you, BBT users!

I bought one on day one I just don't feel like arguing with people who obviously don't understand what nexus is about.

its actually more easier to pack a smartphone, or even  a 7" tablet, than a big screen laptop on a looong trip. plus its pretty much easier to work with a small gadget in a train or bus than a big screen laptop.
a 5" screen at 1foot away is the perfect size for viewing, the subs are readable and the picture looks sharper(well PPI is higher to boot).
