hush, its still a long way to go with the GTX700 batch anyway, around Q4.

$1,000 isn't something to sneeze at, two HD7970Ghz is plenty to beat this at less costs, though yes there would be trade offs.
expect custom titans to be over $1,000 too.

edit: $700-$800 would've been a better and more reasonable price point for this.

Would be nice to have a GTX card with 4 DVI connections, at least their top card should have that.

=O DVI too huge, micro HDMI with HDMI-to-DVI dongles instead.

but yeah, at $1,000 it should be packed with features, but alas they want to push profits off it, though its already niche as it is.

That's a single GPU am I right? The specs on it are ridiculously vast compared to a GTX 690. Is there any difference in micro HDMI connections vs. HDMI connections? Does it output the same thing as a normal HDMI is what I meant. Looking at the GTX Titan, I guess you can have up to 4 displays connected at that one card.

Micro just shrinks the connectors.

Never saw the point in cards like this. Running Crysis 3 across three monitors at ultra settings is ridiculously niche (and it's apparently not that great a game anyway.)

I think micro's the same, just newer and smaller.

All the Kepler cards can do this, I think, only 3 for continuous image though. Compared to what Eyefinity can do, nVidea is still behind.

they're the same, same difference as USB and micro-USB.

nah, they did gimp a few bits of features here and there, one thing to point out is "not use magnesium alloy because its expensive" crap.

Surely will come in handy when playing all the latest nextgen console ports =/ Blowing 1k on a graphics card is absurd when 99% of games that come out nowadays aren't even worth the time to play

^you forgot that two GTX680 would even stomp this card for $100 less, more so with two HD7970Ghz.
its just the price making it an extremely niche item, far from being a collectors item to boot.

the only market i can see this working out is it being an alternative to workstation GPUs that uses the K20X tesla thats priced at $3000.

Meh, dual card solutions have their own set of problems (driver issues with age, heat/power/noise etc.) Regardless, all these ultra-intense games coming out nowadays are a bore to play, as well as many being worthless ports anyway. I remember back when the Elder Scrolls series had worthwhile stuff like Daggerfall, whose complexities and depth was scrapped in favor of fancy-looking backdrops and animations present in Skyrim. I really can't see a point in blowing money on a single GTX 680 to play a game like Skyrim or BF3, much less two or one of these Titan jokes.

It's pretty low power and and has a fairly low noise output. It also gives you the option of doing something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGIb0tws_e4 which I personally am very much a fan off. This, you can't do with twin GTX680s or 7970s.

If I were to build a system of that class now, I wouldn't be getting two 7970s, I'd get the Titan.

With regards to noise and power, I was talking about dual 680s/7970s. I purchased an aftermarket 7850 with low baseline fan speeds/very little power consumption for ~220 AUD and it handles games fine, just not maxed out AA and post-processing settings. I enjoyed Witcher 2 and the 7850 was enough for non-ubersampling gaming.

I would too, but I see little point in a system of that magnitude anyway, at least for gaming.

its because HD7850 and GTX660 are the mainstream cards, meaning they're the minimum cards you can get to actually put up high settings without much fuss.
for most people its plenty too, anything over GTX660Ti or HD7950 are for people who're seriously addicted to games and got the money for it.

It stops becoming about the games and more about flashy computers. People on enthusiast forums like OCN only seem to care about how much grunt their computer has and not about the quality of the games they play.

Looks like this will officially put the GPU race to a standstill for some time.
Good, now we can slowly wait for another Crysis to bring the big jump again when the time comes.
