Adding Subtitles?
« on: February 23, 2013, 04:52:46 AM »
I've recently downloaded an Asian drama " personal taste" that didn't come with subtitles, so I downloaded a WinRar torrent that has the subtitles. My question is, How do I put the subtitles into the video files themselves?!

Not sure if this is the right section, please help!

You don't actually need to mux them with the video - just put them in the same folder.
However, if your player does not support external subs, you can mux them into video files by using MKVToolnix.

If your player does support external sub (like MPC), make sure the video's and the subtitle's file names are exactly the same (not the filename extension, of course).

For example:
video.mkv (the video file), video.srt (the subtitle file) — they have the same "video" file name. Put these two in the same location, and the player will load it for you.

If the "auto load with same file name" doesn't work, just open the video file in MPC, then Drag & Drop the subtitle file into the video window.

Got any old fansubs on HDD/DVD/CD? Please take a look at this thread.
