Was reading about this at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brave_Series and wondering what we have of this. Best as I can tell:
1. Exkaizer (1990) can't find, although Nyaa has a batch of the Raws up by Zero_fansubs
2. Fighbird (1991) HAVE
http://bakabt.me/151076-brave-hero-of-the-sun-firebird-taiyou-no-yuusha-fighbird-onmitsu.html3. Da-Garn (1992) can't find but
http://forums.bakabt.me/index.php?topic=16195.0 says 17 of the 48 were subbed by Anime-Classics. Searching on Nyaa I am able to see this added in 2009. Another group MC-HS added a batch for episodes 1-26 and have released individual episodes for 27 to 36, meaning there's 12 more to go before a complete batch can be made, I think.
4. Gaine (1993) HAVE
http://bakabt.me/131654-yuusha-tokkyuu-might-gain-brave-express-might-gaine-xvid-hk-subs-chamelenia.html5. Decker (1994) HAVE
http://bakabt.me/158041-yuusha-keisatsu-j-decker-brave-police-j-decker-h264-onmitsu-fansubs.html6. Goldran (1995) can't find, 14 of the 48 episodes are on Nyaa from mSubs though
7. Dagwon (1996) can't find, 17 fo the 48 episodes are on Nyaa by Chou-Mendoukusai via Macros74 though
8. GaoGaiGar (1997) HAVE
http://bakabt.me/150903-yuusha-ou-gaogaigar-gaogaigar-king-of-braves-g-p.html9. Betterman (1999) have
http://bakabt.me/129053-betterman-dual-audio.html and
http://bakabt.me/169753-betterman-10bit-h-264-aac-ssp-corp.html though oddly they don't show on each other's pages
10. GGG final (2000) HAVE
http://bakabt.me/128820-king-of-braves-gaogaigar-final.html11. GGG final Grand Glorious Gathering (2005) can't find
http://forums.bakabt.me/index.php?topic=35822.0 says it was never done
Based on the spinoffs GGG is probably the most popular I'm guessing, though these seem to be for the 90s what the Gundam series was for 70s/80s right? I have heard accusations that Lagann takes a lot from GGG, though I haven't seen it yet so I can't say for sure.
I know "Brave/Yuusha" appears in other anime series titles as well. Maybe they're worth mentioning here, maybe not, I dunno. Some may include mecha and some maybe just the word.
I am wondering, for any who have seen multiple examples form this Brave series, how you would compare the two. The only fully fansubbed ones all appear to be present on Baka, and they are 91's Fighbird, 93's Gaine, 94's Decker, 97's GGG and its '99 Better spinoff and 2000 'final' spinoff but not the 'final GGG' spinoff.
Anime series that have a lot in common like this are interesting because even if they take place in separate universe, there is that mass theme (similar to the 'Super Dimension' series of Macross, Orguss and Southern Cross) which makes them more memorable and appealing. Kind of like if you got them you could put them in a big 'Brave' folder kind of like one might do with the CLAMP universe or those recent Marvel Anime things.
