Cannot upload new avatar

I tried changing my avatar to this.
(click to show/hide)

It's 150*184 pixels and 20kB in size, so it's within the limits on avatar sizes, but when I update my forum profile it automatically sets itself to no avatar. Temporary forum hickup or is there something weird with the picture that I haven't noticed.

Weird dimensions?
Unsupported file type?
Not providing the FULL URL?

Some things to check for. I uploaded my earlier today for the first time and it worked just fine. Try again later if you meet the requirements above.

Not sure, but it's possible SMF does not like https://
Try using http:// link instead

That did the trick. I hadn't even noticed minus defaulting to https there, thanks.
