The comedy often involves jokes about Christianity, Buddhism, and all things related, as well as the main characters' attempts to hide their identities and understand modern society in Japan.

I read somewhere that the manga-ka for this said she would absolutely not allow the manga to be published in the USA, for fear of retaliation and lawsuits by certain Christian groups.
