Is Fanservice hate nonsense?

<< < (9/31) > >>

gits:
Fanservice is similar to drug, in small doses it can help however if you add it only for its sake it's deadly  ;D
I like fanservice in animes like Spice and Wolf or Rosario to Vampire because the anime isn't composed solely of it.

So personally i don't hate fanservice nor i would like to get rid of it, good author must find balance between story and fanservice.

Haha. Because of this thread, while I am re-watching some old series, I am noticing more fanservice than I noticed before. Not too much of a shocker, but now that I am keenly aware, it seems to be more obvious.

I guess it depends on what kind of relationship you have with anime. Some people enjoy anime because they see things they'd never see elsewhere, or because they look forward to that kind of thing. I found Strike Witches pretty annoying with those underage panty shots. Though I can't say that I didn't like the story so I watched it til the end. Chu-Bra disgusted me so I stopped watching it (but maybe that wasn't really fanservice because that's what the show was...). I don't mind fanservice, sometimes I might even enjoy it, but it's unnecessary to get my attention... Although it might not be the same for everyone. It's subjective and as long as you understand why those panty shots are on the show you like for other reasons, it's easy not to get mad.

On the fanservice haters topic, this whole thing is pointless imo, like a sword strike in water. The same way you'll almost never obtain a clear, reasoned and legit answer why Bieber haters loathe him and broadcast that hate every chance they have without having listened to his albums or followed him around. I thought he did a good job in SNL and have nothing against the guy, but I did skip through his performance because I think his music sucks.

That behavior is something we pretty much all went through growing up, not necessarily on music exclusively. Some people keep it, others let it go. Self-inducted social pressure of hating what other people love isn't anything new.

I'd rather watch softcore porn.
I try to avoid anime with needless amounts of ecchi fanservice. Complaining about people hating on fanservice is just as annoying if not more.
