DVDISO or 1080p Blueray rip video file?
Diaphantos:
So, like many of you I have a decent sized collection of anime on my hard drive. I generally have both DVDISOs and 1080p video files that are Blue Ray rips. For whatever reason I haven't run into Blue ray Isos. The DVDISOs have horrible quality compared to blue ray, but they come with certain extras like audio commentary and PVs. They're not much, but they're appealing enough that I've kept the DVDISOs on my hard drive just so I could see them. On the flip side, the Blueray rips are so much more beautiful, but very few releases come with all of the extras that come with the DVDISOs.
So, question is, do you prefer DVDISOs with their extras, or the blue ray rips for the beautiful main video?
On a more personal note, which groups have releases which contain the "extras" in a non DVDISO format? For example, Zero raws released Durarara! with the audio commentary in a separate folder as mp3 files, which I then added to the main video file. I'd prefer if the video file came with both audio tracks together, simply because I don't trust myself with editing files. Similarly, none of the releases of Tiger&Bunny that I've downloaded came with the Drama CDs which came as a bonus with the Blueray discs. I'd prefer to get them all together instead of running around to all corners of the web trying to find them.

I suppose that if you want all that stuff, you might have to buy it yourself. It takes a special person to be so altruistic to give away for free what they had to spend their money, or credit card+interest payments on.
I think that a lot of the comedy shows can go all the way down to SD before you wished you had better quality. Most shows are not made with enough attention to detail to warrant Blu Ray. But that is my opinion. BD's are for Ghibli films, the older Production I.G. shows, and maybe this Red Data Girl show just starting.
I watch my anime on my TV. I bought the TV as a combo pack with the Blu Ray player included. The TV is not good enough to watch Blu Rays on it, not really.

Personally I think that most of the extras put on DVDs are a joke. It's like they need to put something there no matter what it is just so that they can put "Extra Material" on the cover.

Same with Jaybug, only download 1080 for certain anime. It's just that I'd rather save space for other anime.

I agree, most of it is fairly worthless. The only ones which I've found to be worthwhile are the audio commentaries from Angel Beats! and the Monogatari Series.
