Uchouten Kazoku [P.A.Works]
« on: March 21, 2013, 03:47:50 AM »

Uchouten Kazoku
AniDB | Official

YouTube: PV
Release: 07.07.2013 till ?
Description: In Kyoto, there are three kinds of residents: humans, raccoon dogs, and tengu. Shimogamo Yasaburou is the third son of the Shimogamo raccoon dog family. His father, Souichirou, had been the head of Kyoto raccoon dog community until he was eaten by the human members of "Friday Club". While taking care of old tengu, fighting with other raccoon dogs, and playing with a psychic human girl, Yasaburou approaches the truth of his father's death.

Yet another project was unveiled and this was kept hidden! This will actually premier in few months. I'm so glad P.A.Works is getting so much work. They do such beautiful scenes.

Anyone know how to get by-pass the shitty restriction on the Official website?

If main picture is not showing, let me know.

Without having watched http://anidb.net/a7243 yet I say this show here is going to be good.

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

To get past the restriction on that site you can use opera turbo, alternatively maybe you could use some proxy server although I haven't tried that.

The OP picture reminds me of SZS. Seems they modified the style for the anime (quite an improvement, too, I might add).

Nothing much went on in the first episode, but it didn't bore me, either (unlike P.A. Works' last project), so I'll stick with it for now.

I think this show is one of the bright spots of the season. It's complex, but reachable to a large audience. It's magical,, but the story is completely "human". I also love the detailed backgrounds of the key animation. They spent some money on this one.

The animation looks a little like Zetsubo Sensei.

The animation looks a little like Zetsubo Sensei.

That's because the original character design is by the creator of SZS – Kouji Kumeta.

Isn't that merely suggested rather than outright confirmed?

I haven't watched episode 3 yet, though, so if they mentioned it there, forget I said anything.

3 eps. down, and it is still so engrossing! There is just so much story to this show! Old tengus, evil twins, some chick named after a goddess, a dead dad who if alive would be able to solve all their plights, a frog in a well, lol

I need to look up if there are any tanukis left. Woo Hoo! There's Tanuki in Portland!!! lol

I've said how much I'm enjoying it already, but it bears repeating - this show is great! The setting, characters, and story are all excellent, and the animation's superb as well. It's got all kinds of strange and wonderful things going on within an already wondrous setting, and it takes full advantage of that to tell a really fun story about some well-written, very characterful characters.

It really has been superb, so far. I cannot recommend it enough to anyone who has yet to watch it. You won't regret it.

This show went from being very good, to awesome this week; in my opinion.

I think I know why she is crying at the well. Not 100% positive I do, but...I have a feeling it was a full moon that New Year's party.

I can more easily digest existentialist philosophy than I can middle 20th century French; Derrida's <<Differance>> philosophies, et cetera. It went deep as a frog in a well this episode. Or deep as two frogs in a well.  There is a lot to think about here. That is if it stirs a "manifestation of your idiot blood". Kind of a Cloud Atlas sort of thing. But then I really liked that movie.

----------------------------------------------------

I am not going to count this as a double post, so nyaa.

What an amazing story! There has been so much to think on over the past two weeks. It's deep, but it still manifests its idiot blood!

newy EDIT: I do.
