How do I hide the subtitle file?
« on: April 05, 2013, 09:28:30 AM »
Hi,I would like to ask a few question.

1.How do I hide the subtitle file and still appear in the player?
(Just like any new anime which automatically put in the subtitle for you)

2.How do I check who sub the anime?

Thanks in advance.

If you mean about the media file not having a separate external subtitle file but still show a softsub, it is "muxed" with the media file.

Nowadays, mkv containers are commonly used as media containers.

mkvtoolnix should do the job. It also comes with a GUI (MKVMergeGUI) for a front-end interface.

2.How do I check who sub the anime?
Do you mean who made the file you have?
Answer: usually the group's name or acronym is in the file name.

Do you mean "How do I find which groups subbed this show"?
Answer: Look at anidb.net; you might have to register an account to see all information.

If you downloaded the anime from BakaBT, all the information you need about subtitles should be listed on the torrent description page. If it's not, you can post a comment on it asking about it.

If you are not from a known group that makes nice releases, don't even bother. It will be rejected almost for sure.
Check the wiki, you can find there info about that. Save some work to yourself and don't do it.

^ I believe he misunderstood you.

If you have an account on AniDB, a client such as AniDB o'matic can check your files and identify them.

We are different from the majority of trackers, so read our Wiki and browse the site carefully to see how we operate.

'Uploading' an anime does not necessarily grant you benefits, so if you are new to computing I suggest you leave it to the others for now.

For help please refer to the wiki and search the help forum!

PM is through my tracker profile only

That depends on what player you're using. I use Media Player Classic so we'll use that.

Navigate -> Subtitle Language -> No subtitles

That'll do what you're looking for.

2.How do I check who sub the anime?

If it's not labeled then check where you downloaded it. If it's not uploaded already though then it may be either poor quality or on the DO NOT UPLOAD list.
