This is beyond trolling... I was actually looking forward to this, the original run was entertaining and actually had some kind of story going in but this is completely nonsensical. Did they mistake the Omake's with the real episodes or something?
I think they needed a new Master Samurai so we can have battles before the six episode, as Yukimara & Sen are useless against the Dark Samurais and Juubei is not going to transform until the last episodes because they are mirroring the the actual Historical Juubei who went missing for 8 years. Otherwise people would have been bored by lack of combat, as the first episode was more like ants being stamped than an actual battle.
Now the way they choose to introduce the new Samurai is a complete trolling, by mirroring all the iconic moments of the last seasons with a freaking MONKEY while teasing us about a kiss in the last episode epilogue, while at the same time making fun of man panties obsession, after all I don't think that Sen getting one of Muneirika underwear on his head was an accident.
Now next episode gonna be mostly comedy with
Kanetsugu trying to become a master Samurai, so we might get some fights going on in Episode 3 or 4 and maybe we can finally get them to try to bring Juubei back or finding the reason behind the Dark Samurai.
I wouldn't call this botched because we are only 2 episodes in and they are trying to ease in the new viewers, we gonna were this goes by episode 4
