Never saw samurai girls, just DL this cause FFF released and it was pretty funny TBH, might have to go check out the first season. . .

The first episode of the second was great, we had all the elements of the series with comedy, fanservice and battles, and they still managed to advance the plot all in one episode.
I just feel bad for Katsunugu ... on the first episode she gets owned ;D
The new cast of girls is also great and I love Musashi, and I think that we still will hear from Yaguu Gisen, and maybe the two gangs of Samurai would have to work together.
