He's wearing Saeki's gym clothes, because else he'd fear what Nakamura would do to him. Of course, this fear is playing right into her hands and she knows it, being the sadist that she is.
However, I don't see why he can't just ditch the clothes one way or another, tell Nakamura to go fuck herself, and deny anything if she does squeal.

she said yes and then she said "this is the first confession ive had"
so I think Saeki just heard "I love you" and not the "I want to be in a platonic relationship"
. . .and so basically if she understood correctly she just got turned down. . .somehow like super friendzoned . ..

It's still a confession, he's asking to go out with her, not jump into bed!
In my high school, there was a particular girl who was both very pretty and very quiet. ALL us boys were scared spitless of asking her out, even though we all agreed she was pretty. Saw her at the 10 year anniversary, she was more outgoing and just as pretty! Better even! Big handsome husband, 3 lovely kids...
But I digress...
I'm confused as to the age of the characters. In the manga they seem so young, but in the anime they look & act older. Middle school, right? Grade 8? 9? In the manga they look 11, and in the anime they look 14...
So it's consistent that she's not had a confession already (they're kind of young) and that it's platonic is "understood" at that tender age... or am I just "old fashioned"? :-\
