Bakabt says i am downloaindg when i'm not

It says i have 27 uploading and 1 downloading torrents and if i am not mistaken it has gone up from my 600 gigs downloaded yesterday to 620 today. Everything on my client is uploading and nothing is downloading so can some one tell me why it keeps saying i have some thing downloading?

It says you're still leeching this torrent. If you've only partly downloaded some of the songs to seed, BakaBT will interpret you as a leecher until you've downloaded the whole torrent or stopped it.

Everything on my client says its uploading and everything is fully downloaded though, which is what i don't understand. Can i see which one is still d/ling? it doesn't look like it's moved other than the more recent stuff i d/led though i might have just misread 620 for 600 yesterday too but that one down arrow is annoying when i know there should be none.

yep and my ratio is still at 622 which is what it was when i last posted so i guess it really isn't a big deal i just find it weird to have a perma red arrow.

The peerlist seems to indicate you only have 28.14% of the files.

Of which files on my client everything says seeding and it still is staying at the same d/l ratio upload is going up as it should though. I guess it doesn't matter if nothing is being negatively impacted, I still find it odd though.

I think I figured it out I only d/led certain files on the one soundtrack I have I believe that's the torrent your talking about. It's seeding because it finished d/ling what I plucked from it but on here it still says leeching because it isn't 100%

There is one negative impact, which is that you can't leech more than 10 torrents at a time (3 if you're not a power user). Had you partly downloaded 9 more, you wouldn't have been able to download additional torrents until you solved the problem.

Is there any decent way of checking that though? I thought they just meant if everything was fully d/led which it was for what I had d/l was fully done, they didn't specify if i was getting parts of torrents and not full ones. If they said that it would have made more sense to me either way though thanks for the help guys

If there were no context, me saying 'all files' would mean every single one in the universe.
Here I meant the ones in the torrent in question.

If you are asking if there's a way for you to check, yes, just see what files you selected on a torrent.

If you're asking if there's a way for the tracker to check, no, the tracker only knows how much of a torrent you have completed. If the amount is less than the total size of the torrent, it's assumed that you are leeching, even if you don't want the rest of the torrent.

**outch** Didn't know about that one.  I have no problem seed back the things I d/l, but that doesn't mean I want to download everything in my path.  That seems like a lame rule.  So in order to not have a partial d/l count against you, you have to stop seed it?  That seems counterproductive.  I mean I've had a couple of those (that eventually either finished or were removed ... but they were things like characters-talking on "sound track" / "music" collections -- that were neither soundtrack nor music ;-)...  Hey, if I understood japanese, or had subs... it'd be cool, but w/o either, those are a bit pointless ...

JMO, but I'd have to hope the trackers gets some more smarts -- like looking at the amount d/l'ed and seeing if that changes...  but easy for me to think that when I'm not doing the programming...

It's inconvenient the way it is but with the current technology no other way is possible, so you'll just have to bear with it unfortunately.

If a torrent were incomplete, but you consider it complete, it still doesn't stop you from downloading more pieces in the distant future, making it 'more complete'.
It would be pretty troubling to make a tracker work with that.
