Dual audio and forcing a certain audio to be main.

(1/2) > >>

Naughtmare:
I looked and looked and still can't find it:
I have Blood+ and its in English with Subtitles disabled by default. It also includes the Japanese audio and Subtitles but I have to switch every episode. I dont have a problem with that when I am at the computer but recently I've gotten pretty lazy since college finished for me, and summer term is a month away... I deter, point is, I need a way to make it default Japanese + Subtitles.
If its in the wikia I apologize ahead of time because I couldn't find it :( Sorrryyyy

On another note I've been struggling with the damned avatar (Forum) it keeps saying

--- Code: ---
The following errors occurred when trying to save your profile:
The avatar you have selected is either too large or not an avatar.
--- End code ---

Anyone care to tell me what I did wrong?
Here are the 2 links Ive been trying to use:

Avatar = Solved... It was too big, and I dont feel like resizing the .gif so I used the .jpg instead and made it the 150x200 size... kthx. Still need help with the Audio/Sub thing.
thanks

TL;DR: Dual Audio. need to make jap the primary one, instead of english and enable subtitles by default.

Zalis116:
This makes certain (possibly wrong) assumptions about your system, but if you have CCCP installed:

Start Menu > Haali Media Center > Haali Media Center Setting

In the "Audio and Subtitle Preferences" field, enter* jpn, jpn;jpn, eng

Set "Match subtitle track name to audio" to "Yes"

This should work for most dual-audio releases out there, and it will work for Arigatou's** Blood+, as it only has one subtitle stream.

*Some groups tag the full subtitles as "Japanese" and the Songs/Signs-only subs as "English" -- instructing Haali to look for jpn subtitles first will cover those releases as well as ones that tag the subs as English.

Note that if you have a release where both subtitle tracks are tagged English, and the first one is the Songs/Signs-only track, you will need to manually change that, with perhaps one exception.

**Though I must ask, if you want to watch Blood+ in Japanese, why are you watching the Arigatou version? Those particular R1 DVDs were dubtitled, meaning the subs are straight transcripts of the English dub. If you want accurate translations, I suggest getting the Shinsen TV-rips, or the ecchilicious DVD version that uses Shinsen's subs.

Naughtmare:
Firstly thanks.
I use VLC thus everything you said does not in fact pertain to me, YET.
Should I get CCCP?
Should I do everything you said, or does VLC have its own work around?
Further, I did not look for a certain type of Blood+ just download the first one, thus being in this dilemma. But this is not the only torrent with this kind of issue. Also I have 4 different subtitles included with Blood+ where they are inside the .mkv file and do not house themselves as separate .srt files, and what I asked about the subtitles is to have them enabled by default. Not necessarily english, but just enabled. You see I hate, I completely and totally despise English translations of anything. I am not a weaboo, but I hate american voices more than anything else. When I downloaded blood+ it had eng first, jap second, subtitles are off by default but are in fact included in 4 different languages...
Sorry for the wall of text by the way.

xgraphy:
I would recommend Kawaii Codec Pack instead of CCCP.

The tutorial by Zalis is pretty much the same but with LAV Splitter instead.

Tiffanys:
You shouldn't use VLC. It has its own built in codecs but the performance is just utter crap. You'll be a lot better off with Media Player Classic and a good codec pack. Personally I use Shark007 along with Icaros Thumbnails Standalone (gives all videos proper thumbnails on x64 systems and Windows Explorer won't crash).

(click to show/hide)Help > Options > Internal Filters

Under Source Filters, unchecked:
AVI
DTS/AC3
Matroska
MP4/MOV
MPEG Audio
MPEG PS/TS/PVA
Ogg

Under Transform Filters, checked:
ALAC
RealAudio
PS2 Audio (PCM/ADPCM)
Other PCM/ADPCM
WMV3 (DXVA)
RealVideo
VP3/5/6
WMV1/2/3
MJPEG
Indeo 3/4/5

Then at Playback > Output we have Haali Renderer
You could probably use Icaros with just about any codec pack though. I use to use CoreAVC but ever since it stopped working for 10-bit then got worse performance than the filters included in codec packs I've just straight up ditched it.
