Torrents that are good for seeding
« on: April 24, 2013, 10:00:05 PM »
Hey guys, i'm a newbie to bakabt and i jumped head-first into the opportunity of such high quality anime torrents. Now I'm in kind of a bramble.
I've downloaded around 70 gigabytes however only seeded around 3.65 with a ratio of approx. 0.052 (at risk of being warned).. So over the last three days, I've stopped all the torrents which I'm downloading and seeding the ones I've downloaded, however, I've realised that not many peers are connected. I've left my laptop on for over 60 hours seeding 10 torrents from bakabt, now down to 4 because 6 of them had 0 peers connected for most of the time... So I was wondering, how can I seed more!? Do I download a popular torrent and seed that? Or what? I'm desperately trying to raise my upload amount, and I've heard that donations raise upload, but they're currently closed ;-; 助けてください!!!!!

Collect 50+ torrents from BakaBT.
Donations are closed almost permanently. Don't count on them.

BakaBT is pretty over-seeded and you won't be able to get into the initial swarm on new released until you're a power user. I'd say to also download torrents like Bakemonogatari which are free seeds in order to boost your upload for free over time.

Don't double-post.  Edit your old post if it is the last one in the thread.

Quite a number of the torrents @BBT are easily found at other torrenting sites.  Google Tokyo Toshokan or Nyaa torrents for two of them.

Now, locate a few torrents of interest here @BBT.  Look at the exact details, such as [group], encode resolution, TV or BD source, filesize and filenames.  It should take very little effort to determine which torrents are an exact match for the ones here at baka.  Download from the other trackers, then reseed here under your profile.  Viola!  Instant freeleech for a wide selection in all resolutions.

Pay attention to the [group] accepted here @BBT and visit their websites.  You can find more links &/or IRC etc. download options for more possibilities that don't appear on the other trackers.  Notice on the front page of the Wiki there is a link for How to seed files I already have.

Please don't ask how to reseed in this thread until you've spent some time searching and reading in this forum for how to reseed ... it's a question that has been asked & answered numerous times.  We'll need to know your client & config if you run into specific trouble with that.

Most of us seed anywhere from 50 to 150 torrents simultaneously to saturate our upload bandwidth.  Personally, I find that for my U/L bandwidth of ~ 5 Mbit/s, about 80 torrents usually saturates, and I run quite a few that are a bit more exotic and don't get a lot of D/L activity.  I average about a terabyte per month, with my client open basically 24/7.

A large torrent, such as Inuyasha can help you out a lot.  First, that one is quite popular.  Second, people downloading stay connected longer, so you get a good opportunity to get action off the downloaders.  Then, run the ratio up on well-performing torrents, like 5:1 or 10 in this example.  It will pull your statistics heavily toward it due to its size, giving you lots of leeway with smaller torrents that don't produce so well.  NANA is a great anime, and produces steady upload due to it's popularity.  The soundtrack collection for NANA also does unusually well for an OST (usually OSTs don't do very well, but this one is outstanding and popular, if you like music).  Cowboy Bebop is another good example, both anime series and OST collection.

Learn to read the statistics boxes in the offers.  That info is there for a good reason: to help you figure out which torrents are popular, among other things.

Generally, pick anime that you like.  You'll want to share those and feel good about seeding ... thus, motivation to seed longer.

The Rurouni Kenshin series has also a steady leeching activity, and the S/L ratio usually stays below 10 (which is the criteria I use to select the torrents I'm seeding). You have to be patient, due to heavy seeding getting your ratio back on track is a time consuming activity.

Check the inactive tab on my profile, anything with huge amounts uploaded is good to seed. Generally, anything lowly seeded and not so mainstream; like Transformers, Card Captor Sakura DUB, Zoids and 100s of others....

Lower category torrents like XVID seed huge amounts for the file size as well, like Girls Bravo and shit....check the peerlist for how many rTorrent clients are active, if more than 4 don't bother seeding.

It doesn't matter if he can't see peerlists. I'm pretty sure anyone can see a particular person's stats, which are different from peerlists.

I mean, heck, I visited my own profile while logged out before, and I could see every non-hentai thing I ever downloaded.

Kami Nomi 720p is pretty good. I got a 14+ ratio for the second season.

Jesus christ, if only I would've known this sooner. I always thought torrents on this site were sort of exclusive. Generally I avoid Bakabt like the plague since getting a decent ratio takes so much time and hard drive space. I just realized I have like 200 GB uploaded on Bakabt torrents but without the damn tracker.

You do realize that this is one of the easiest "private" sites around? With a policy of allowing DL by non-registered people and seriously low ratio requirements for the ones that do register to get a few perks, it almost takes intentional negligence to fail here...

As a member of 20+ sites, I fully concur. This is essentially the only tracker where I've been able to seed and max my bandwidth 24/7.
I've even been able to upload data for single torrents 24/7 for months, like the Susumiya Haruhi series.
