There, there Tiff. We can't all have nice things in this world.

The way I see it, It's just that talking high of one's achievements without much things backing it up is not very well accepted in most people.
It's not like you'd believe me if I said I killed a guy last week and hid his body in a lake just because he's stupid. (or did I?)

The best way to fix it is to just keep our varying achievements to ourselves good or bad and be proud in ourselves for what we accomplished.
Or maybe try to not be too snobbish to make it believable. That's my two cents on what's happened here.

It's more that going "Oh, I'm not a braggart, but I'm really hot, and a genius, and I beat the shit out of someone and all their armed friends but didn't get in trouble for it and I know this huge number of amazing martial arts, but I'm not arrogant at all" is, in fact, bragging, quite arrogant, and a sure-fire way to piss people off.

Talking about your achievements is fine - we all do it - but doing it in a less obnoxious manner would surely be appreciated by everybody here.

@C : You must be new here.  We haven't a more self centered and attention seeking person on these forums past tiff.  He she is constantly talking about he she's body and how hot it is, along with reassuring him herself that he she's smart and "the perfect woman".

Clearly a case of someone who wants to be accepted as something more than they are and use BS on forums to fill some kind of hole in said persons life.

More a fear for the guys hard drive. I don't know. I'm sure they had their reasons but it seemed a wee bit blown out of proportion

The guy was an idiot, granted, but he was seriously asking for help. Joke or not, it was something I'd refrain from ever suggesting.
It wasn't what Sebur suggested, it was how, that got him banned.
Supply an idiot with the exact things to do and they will do it, not knowing the consequences.
An idiot won't know what fdisk means, but they'll give it a try if its supposed to be able to fix their issue.
