Well, yeah, of course we won't know as much about endangered species, or species that are remotely exotic or dangerous to deal with. But cats, dogs, rats, mice, cows, pigs, horses, frogs, (smaller) fish and sheep should be very well researched, of which the knowledge of the smaller animals should at least rival our understanding of human processes.
