Sounds nasty, but it's possible it could turn on again. A friend of mine dropped a calculator in salt water once, at first it wouldn't turn on at all, and just smelt of salt, but after ~3 days, it worked perfect.
I understand a calculator and a laptop are rather worlds apart, but , you never know

I'm almost finished building my new desk to house all my electronic gear and CDs/DVDs/BDs
Here's a pic of what I have so far:
Almost done, just gotta cut the tabletop to size and put it in place, then finish the other shelf, paint the shelves and finally (later) make a few nice DVD drawers in the centre. Not that they're ever going to have enough room...
