^The layout of the area where my room, the guest bathroom, and my brother's room's doors open to. The bracket on the left is my doorway. The bracket on the right is my brother's room's doorway. The dashes on the top is the guest bathroom doorway. The pipes and underscores are the walls. The opening at the bottom is the entryway into that part of the house.

Now, I was walking from a small section of my kitchen that, at one time, contained a desk. I was carrying my laptop and the external harddrive. I went through the living room and passed the dining room and through the entryway (opening). Now, the bathroom is immediately in front of me and my room is on the left. I turn left to go into my room and my external falls (at an angle due to tangential velocity) into the bathroom--onto the tiled floor.

I once dropped my external western digital elements 2.5 TB). It took 2.5 years out if my life.

oh but it still worked. No data damage either. Yup, I was very lucky.

well i have a pretty good reason to bring mine to the bathroom.

you see i have a pocket sized mini speaker that has a usb port on the side and it can play music files contained in whatever storage device you plug into it in a random fashion. i like to listen to music while i'm in the tub.

nah, i use an old HDD that only contains music so no worries.

I have one of those old 250GB removable hdd's lying around, still requires extra power on the side & so heavy to carry around.
Maybe I should give it a second life, somehow.
