Agree. That's what I did throughout my engg degree. Everything from doodling to complete drawings (which I had posted in general art thread).

Possibly at some point in the future it could definitely be something that might happen.

(Good. I'm giving it to you anyway.)

Add a signature first, and then after about a month once everyone has come to easily recognize it then change your avatar. That way people that only associate you with your avatar will then associate you with the sig as well and then when you change the avatar you won't mysteriously be a different person since people will recognize the sig.
