I know gimp is free but I think a large amount of people would use a PSD format, I think Gimp supports it no ?

Yeah, GIMP supports READING PSD, but not WRITING PSD, sadly.

if that was your intention, TIF is the perfect file format for that. since it supports layers, and I haven't encountered a program that can't open it. XCF is not supported by photoshop, ironically.

EDIT: Test it out. here's a TIF from photoshop, see how much gets retained. since it's from PS I'll obviously see everything on my end.

^ actually, lossless Gif would be a better option, since .tif is bad at compressing. Unless photoshop can't open all the layers of the gif either.

I guess it also depends how I handle frame disposal and duplicate pixels.

You know, lossless GIF sounds like an oxymoron... if fails on color count and alpha alone(255 including alpha).

I checked Wikipedia, nope, didn't see layer support.

also, I put up a TIF file, try and see what you can find in it.

Everyone knows about WebM by now. Thing is, I'm pretty sure you can't convert images directly to it, only videos.

Its not animated... Its for layer support, remember... Which is why it was just simpler to share a .xcf

Webm is for vp8/vp9 video coding.

technically, we're all "outdated" since we still all use jpg. we should be using jpg2000...

I usually don't use *.tif files but when I do I call them *.tiff files just because.

Hah, you don't know many girls very well. Most girls I know are way worse than any guy I know. The only difference is that most girls tend to just not be as publicly obvious about it.

There's bad social stigma attached. A girl that likes sex is a slut (even if she doesn't sleep around) which is bad, but a guy who does is "cool" even if he fucks every girl in the town.
