If I use jewelry, I prefer bronze or brass. Screw gems.

Bronze and brass are pretty bad for jewelry because they tarnish and the copper will leave a green mark on your finger. I've looked into it in detail, check this thread: http://forums.bakabt.me/index.php?topic=41786.0

If you don't mind the color you should just go for sterling silver. It's incredibly inexpensive.

It's the specific colour I'm after, and having gone to a bunch of jewlers, I was mostly offered rose gold which is a bit too expensive.
