--- Quote ---On August 1, the government will start simultaneously sending requests to delete illegal anime and manga contents to the operators of the 580 foreign pirate sites which they have found. In addition, the operation will launch a new site to guide the fans to a legitimate site offering some 250 titles including
the latest ones at a cost of several hundred yen.

Whoa, that came out of no where. I wonder if they can even touch Nyaa. I bet all the fans will get pretty pissed and have another superb counter-measurements for all of this like how they did several years ago. Anyone remember the big incident with Funnymation and HorribleSubs and how HorribleSubs came back a month or two later to become 'untouchable' sort of site? Or how groups broke apart and reformed into different ones with better hosting sites and seed boxes (or something like that ..)?

Anyways. How much money will the Japanese government have to put down in order to execute these operations is beyond me. China doesn't give a shit about the outside world anyways.

I believe hosting torrents or files ripped from open TV sources is not illegal, if the channels in Japan were coded and needed to be decoded I would understand if it was illegal, but isn't. It's like you can legally possess recorded programs of national geographic.

Majority of stuff on websites lie nyaa is the ongoing stuff. It's not even seeded long.
Bakabt is hosted outside of usa/japan and is pretty much safe in that regard.

I'm not sure what measures HS took to be untouchable but they too are not really breaking the law by hosting rips. Especially when you have free access to it at the source.

Those measures are a joke, and their offer is more of a joke.
I have more anime on DVDs than they offer.

That isn't how tv broadcasting works

Well they gonna work against streaming sources, the illegal ones. They can try at least.
