^well, I would call 'em both mead,
AS I know the drink you're talkin' bout as mead but the only translation for the drink I drank is ''mead'' and the only tanslation for mead into finnish is the same word.
so, it is ''mead''. It normally is reeeal mild brewage, as it normally contains about 0.2-6% but this year we put in 2 - 3 times more yeast than normally.

in fact, 1 of the bottles gave me the same reaction as vodka does.

it is finnish home made stuff.
made from brown sugar and yeast (and lemons)
and the only translation for it was mead.

As in, one drinks more than the other?
Or just one drinks odder things than the other in order to get drunk?
