1.2% mead? Does that exist? All the mead I've drank has been no less than 11-12%, usually closer to 16-17%. I've never heard of mead being any weaker than that... it must be pretty tough to make without watering it down I'd imagine, too.

it is finnish home made stuff.

and the only translation for it was mead.

Ahh, so it's not quite mead then. Or maybe yours is mead, and what we call mead over here is something different. We make it with honey, yeast, and sometimes some extra sugar. Occasionally we add spices (such as cinnamon), or fruits to it as well. It's delicious, but the combination of vast quantities of sugar and high ABV means getting drunk on it is... interesting.

^well, I would call 'em both mead,
AS I know the drink you're talkin' bout as mead but the only translation for the drink I drank is ''mead'' and the only tanslation for mead into finnish is the same word.
so, it is ''mead''. It normally is reeeal mild brewage, as it normally contains about 0.2-6% but this year we put in 2 - 3 times more yeast than normally.

in fact, 1 of the bottles gave me the same reaction as vodka does.

As in, one drinks more than the other?
Or just one drinks odder things than the other in order to get drunk?

Ah, I see. In any case, alcoholic conversations are always fun.

I always forget I'm not allowed to drink in the US yet... well, for religious reasons yes, but otherwise not.

Switzerland lets you drink at 16, and Icelanders never really give a shit about anything, especially laws (channeling their inner Viking).

But kvass isn't really alcoholic. It's only like 1-1.5% at the very most, I've drunk the stuff since I was a wee brat. We consume it the same way we consume Coca Cola. It's great during the summer heat waves~

I also put honey in it when I brew it, cause I prefer the taste of it~

^ heh, well, it is possible to make the 'mead' upto 17%, it depends on the ingredients one uses and how much of them one uses.

On another note, the bar I was at last night, was Karaoke bar.
