The whole franchise is overrated, but since squarenix was build they fucked it up. So the FF series is dead to me. So dead fantasy it is.

Well, my favorite is VIII, and on second place is XII. The initial somewhat more oriental setting seems to appeal to my arab genes

And honestly, I don't count any series as dead as long as it's being developed, after all there is still hope that they might release something good (even if chances are below 1%)

Its my favourite, but thats not the general feel I get from around the net. I often see it being called the worst Final Fantasy.

VIII as a game was decent, but its cast annoyed the living shit out of me and I was pissed that you couldn't exactly grind in that game. Also, I don't like machine guns in turn-based fantasy RPGs.
