A friend of mine just messaged me on Facebook that she wants to take a break of me for a while because my lack of emotions is getting on her nerve... wtf.
Who says shit like that? Unless you're dating, then it kinda makes sense.
We are not. She's an old friend of mine.
Well it's true that our levels of emotion contrast a lot. I'm not emotionless but in general I'm more the analytic kind. I try not to let my emotions influence any important decisions I make. I'm also not too good at expressing my feeling. I prefer to keep them to myself. I talk a lot about how I think, rarely about how I feel and I get kinda awkward when somebody else is being very emotive (e.g. crying, angry, overly exited, etc)
She, on another hand, is very much the opposite. She has been diagnosed Borderline, which basically means that she has unstable spikes of emotion that she is unable to control, overreacting to the smallest things, panic crisis, frequent depressions, tendency to alternatively idealize and devaluate people she knows, etc. It's not her fault. It's just the way her brain is hardware.
In any case, since I react very differently to my own emotions, it can be hard for me to understand what it is to be her and don't know what I'm supposed to do to make her feel better.
