I just learned that taking more than 3 of 4 grams of omega 3 a day actually has negative impact on human health(hemorrhagic stroke, bleeding, etc). While it's pretty rare that people take that much of it nowadays, it made me think that there have been a lot of research on algae farming in the past few years. Most of the oil produced by them are omega 3(which is why fish also contains a lot of it), so hypothetically, if researchers reach their goal, omega 3s could very well become less expensive to produce than other oils in a few decades.
Wouldn't it be ironic if food companies started putting omega 3s everywhere to save money and as a result people actually started becoming sick from too much of it?
