What is with people's obsession with staying up to date with like 30 different things.

Do you really care that much to have THAT many relevant feeds? Caring about like 3 things is hard, and one of them is sleeping.

heh... Why I don't practice as a MD. I suck at math and I'd be responsible for someone's life. Shitty schedules too, depending on your field. Much nicer to just do research and not be responsible for someone's life.

Research is just as important in keeping people alive though, if you mess up we might kill people too (although it will be stopped in clinical trial phase at the latest)

I know a guy who works in ER, I could never do that stuff. If I was doing it, I'd be like

'fuckfuckfuckfuck ummmm ok. So, errr this guy's had an aortic aneurysm... let's cut open his chest and see if we ca- *BOOM* argh, fuck blood everywhere! errrr, shit. um, let's, uhh'

Whereas this guy is like plugging up that burst vessel in no time, stabilising this patient and going "yeah, he'll hold out for about 3-4 more hours, my work is done. send him to XYZ department for ABC operation"
