and here I thought/hoped your drinking capacity has increased. I know someone that tests how much he can drink every year and logs his growth that way
I could probably drink them under the table and I barely weigh over 100lbs (45kg). I have a metabolic tolerance and a genetic tolerance. Metabolism like a hummingbird.
Metabolic: A tolerance that results from a more rapid elimination of alcohol from the body. This type of tolerance is due to a specific group of liver enzymes that are activated after prolonged drinking. These enzymes increase the speed at which alcohol is broken down. As a result, this reduces the time during which alcohol is active in the body. Therefore, the time during which alcohol’s intoxicating effects are felt is shortened.
Genetic: Studies have shown that tolerance can be influenced greatly by genetics. Research indicates that individuals who have
alcoholic parents were less impaired by alcohol, as compared with individuals who have nonalcoholic parents. Therefore, tolerance and the predisposition to alcoholism have been shown to be genetically linked.
I've never managed to get drunk. I've only really tried to get completely wasted a ~5 or so times but it's never worked. This was my last try: An entire bottle of crown (~25 shots, but I wasn't using shot glasses I was using real ones), about half a dozen Smirnoffs (cherry, green apple, etc.), a few high alcohol content beers, and even a pretty good amount of tequila. All in under an hour, probably in under half an hour. Result? Not even tipsy. Barely a buzz.
I'm practically immune. It actually kinda sucks. Then again, I guess it's kinda good in other ways.
