Both would be roughly evenly matched.
^ Yup.
The hoplites were before the roman soldiers and the Romans based a lot of the style, principles, etc. of the hoplites.

Also a hoplite wasn't like a group of people they were citizen warriors of ancient Greek city-states, most notable of the hoplites are the Spartans.
^ This is correct. The Roman soldiers were more or so based off of the hoplites. They also had their own Phalanxes formation which was very effective against their enemies. Thou' I will give credit to hoplites. They were the most experienced in combat and heavily trained in working together against the enemy. If you watch the movie, 300, they literally fought like what you see in the movie. The hoplites were always, always outnumbered and still won against many great armies.

Anyways. :P

lol Alexander III > generic hoplite
The emperor of Russia, King of Scotland, or the pope?

None. Alexander III of Macedon aka Alexander the Great.

Then why note call him Alexander the great? Or use his full name, really hard to know whom you are speaking of when there are multiple with the same first name. :P

Ah, well Alexander the Great is ... Alexander.

About to finish this shitty history essay and submit it. Military expeditions from both Roman and Sparta. Fucking boring and stupid. It was also fun since I was listening to Shingeki no Kyojin music. Kinda had a nice rythem to it while writing about these two.

Ah .... I need to turn on the AC. Need some cool air.

It's not been that hot here lately.
As long as you are not being bombarded by the brutal afternoon sun anyway.

Greek hoplites vs. Roman soldiers. Who would win?
Greece was assimilated into the Roman empire. There's your answer.  ;D
Also professional military wins, always.

Because we can!

The emperor of Russia, King of Scotland, or the pope?

Which one? Peter the Great, Ivan the Terrible, (both advanced Russia militarily and technologically) or weak ones Nicholas II or Peter III? Likewise great Kings of Scotland like Kenneth I who "created" Scot nation after the Vikings annihilated the previous nation of Picts or weak ones like John Balliol who was so weak his dynasty was only him before a new set of succession wars.

As for popes, so many I am not going to bother. Anyway this is really a Russian emperor vs pope question due to lack of Scottish manpower  :P
For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

The 'needle' thingy reminded of the dream I had last night where apparently I was a augmented human with liquid metal hands which could produce a whole barrier of needles for attack/defense purposes...

Checked fb :3

Lol, when it was my turn to stick the needle into the other person, after I was done, the teacher started going about how good student I am, how fast I learn stuff and how I'm able to get stuff right on the 1st try, almost got me wordless. So, I started telling her how bad I'm with studies, always repeating stuff, looking lime I don't listen in class and just over all being lazy... And how I might ask the same question repeatedly when doing something I'm not used to.

I'm practically immune. It actually kinda sucks. Then again, I guess it's kinda good in other ways.  :-\

Ha! Won't believe it until I see it. Last chick to make such a bold claim ended up puking (very evenly too as it went down in a fine stream only to distribute itself over both legs) in my friend's bathroom. Guess who wasn't invited to his parties any more.

Yeah... that sounds like bullshit.

Just because you didn't get tipsy from taking a shot or two that one time after you just ate doesn't mean jack shit.

Pound a few shots back to back on an empty stomach and we'll see how immune you really are.

I don't think you even read my post.

I've never managed to get drunk. I've only really tried to get completely wasted a ~5 or so times but it's never worked. This was my last try: An entire bottle of crown (~25 shots, but I wasn't using shot glasses I was using real ones), about half a dozen Smirnoffs (cherry, green apple, etc.), a few high alcohol content beers, and even a pretty good amount of tequila. All in under an hour, probably in under half an hour. Result? Not even tipsy. Barely a buzz.

That, by the way, was on an empty stomach.

Woah woah woah, what are you, superwoman? My parent almost died drinking wine on an empty stomach.
