FYI I'm trying to find a good laptop, and my budget is within $1k.
Turns out it's a pain to find something like that.

It's pretty much a rule of thumb that if you want a "gaming laptop" you should just get a desktop instead because no matter what you get or what you pay it's going to suck way more than an equivalent desktop and be much harder to play games on.

Yeah, I thought we'd agreed on here that it's better to have a nice gaming PC and a shitty small laptop.

Basically, I'm going to use it for my work, but I'd like it to have something strong enough to run stuff such as Skyrim decently, if I intend to use it all day.

Well, you could use DuckDuckGo instead of google, and I guess something like Tor or a VPN if you really wanted to go further.

Yeah, I'm not that paranoid, although I do have TOR installed on my computer for whenever I feel the need to search for morally ambiguous/suspicious topics.

I use a VPN (SSH) to browse movie/tv show torrent sites and to download the *.torrent files and to add them to my seedbox...

FlashBlock, and uninstall the Java plugin if you have it.
