Damn, I get a few hours of sleep and you all just transform into magical girls and slaughter my posts with the magic of love... Ok, I'll try to reply in order.
Flyawave: Indeed, it probably is. It was getting pretty long already, I figured people either didn't care enough for me to be even more specific in my arguments or were 'well-read' as yourself for it to not matter and I still contend that the point is true.
Sprinters probably aren't as good of 'all rounders' as say football players. That's not really a fair comparison as sprinting is but a single skill, football is a team sport that requires a lot of different skills for success. None-the-less, 40yd dash times have a big impact on a player's value. That same skill would be useful in soccer as well but passing(football) skills wouldn't carry over as far as I know. That's sort of the basis for my argument.
JoonasTo: I don't get it... Are we talking about the same 'football'? In American football(read: NFL) the 40yd dash is part of the NFL Combine and helps determine a players value in the draft. Provided someone doesn't suck in every other event....
Saras: I agree, sports like rugby or football are probably the best mix. To be honest, this discussion didn't start as 'best all around athlete' and I'd prolly say NFL player like running back or quarterback in that case. I think it started with me just saying 'sprinting is the most bad ass sport' or some such and eventually I got around to saying that sprinting is the most 'simple and pure' expression of athletic ability. I'd still contend that it is but it's hard to argue that a sprinter is automatically going to be awesome at every sport.
I do recall early on the argument was whether a sprinter had an advantage over a swimmer or long distance runner in other sports. I don't see how that's even questionable, a typical swimmer doesn't practice moving quickly about on land as far as I know. Long distance runners aren't even worth discussing, they'd never have a chance while the sprinter would likely be the best athlete on the field for at least a few seconds every now and again.
lololitas: Not sure what to do with this, doesn't make sense to me....
1000mAh: Well, it's a bunch of junk as I said. None of it's really nice, the MultiSync is prolly my fav but it's wonky 1600x1200 is really only decent for old 4:3 shit and even then requires scaling. I'll get a much cooler pic when it's more fine-tuned, need to pick up all the shit on my desk(see printer pic, to the right.. tons of boxes of tea and paper and shit). I think the total for everything in here that I didn't *already* have from years ago was about $900. Was about $550 for the PC, would've been much less but I wanted Win8 Pro and the GDDR5 7750 sounded kinda sexy for cheap. Less than $200 for the monitor and ~$200 for the printer. As I said, I got the 940BW years ago and all the other monitors I was gifted second-hand. It's all just a bunch of cheap shit that seems to work well for what I'm doing. A nice projector will take things up a major notch though, I'll have larger-than-life-size lolis
Also, need to figure out how to hook up old 'hi-fi' speakers to my PC, I'm guessing I need like a reciever somewhere in the mix. Right now I'm using the cheapest, jankiest 5.1 set of Altec Lansing computer speakers. It works but it's not 'nice' by any means. I have some sick JBLs that would be perfect for 2.0 if I could figure out how to hook them up.
As for not 'accepting' others' opinions... well, I'm simply sharing mine, forcefully. It's like rape. *lol* No seriously though, I'm just 'discussing' here, it's the general chit chat so I figured there's no need to get *too* serious here.
NaRu: It is an awesome monitor, better than any CRT I've ever had. The color is awesome, it's very nice and sharp but not painfully sharp like LCDs, you'll never see 'pixellation' on it. Much better image quality for than any LCD I own *for media at 1600x1200*. Since I've no video at such a resolution and 16:9 stuff would be letterboxed into a tiny lil strip through the center I just keep it around because it's cool and might some day watch some old 4:3 stuff on it. Really super cool monitors though, even the name MultiSync hints at it's professional nature.
