Yeah, the major election in Germany is this month too.
And Bavaria gets to elect its federal parliament... and our city/county councils as well. Quite frankly, idk who'll get my vote. Might vote either Green, Liberal or Pirates. Not too happy with any of them, but they're the closest to my personal interests and it'll keep both the social and the christian democrats at bay. And the new right-wing movements of course (whom I do not want to take power at all).

Really? I would feel like shit if I slept that long. It almost feels worse than having too little sleep.
For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

Same goes for me. If i sleep more then 10 hours, i am totally wacky in my mind and it takes sometimes several hours until i am in "normal mode" again.  :laugh:

My mother says that her cat sleeps 22h/day

Cats are the embodiment of carelessness. Maybe this is one of the reasons why they are so cute.

Since I live in hungary I had to vote via letter, which I already did, the problem is that I forgot whom I voted for after sealing the letter. It has to be either FDP (liberals), pirate party or the CDU (I doubt that I'd have voted for them due to the theoretical possibility of them forming the first single-party government since the unification/founding of germany). Well I guess one of those get's my vote^^

I can sleep for up to 16 hours, go to the bathroom, drink something and then sleep for another 2 hours again I try to avoid that though, since I won't get anything done that way

*Sigh* I have to go visit my new college. It's in a different city (around 300km away). I am used to travelling but travelling alone is still pretty boring. *sigh*

Good choices. :) I'm yet uncertain as to for whom I should vote in the federal parliament election... but it's very likely going to be FDP. They're a bunch of lame jokes, but I'd rather give my vote to them than strengthening the CSU (or supporting the FW for that matter).

hm, looking at my ava/sig and thinking - maybe I should cut my hair and have a bangs
True I do try to grow my hair back, welll, can have bangs and grow the rest of my hair...I think...maybe....

The hairstyle in your ava/sig only works if your hair will cooperate and not be super flat and boring. I think?

That would not be a problem, even when I try to make my hair stay straight and be flat they still make a mess and now that I have short hair (only a bit over my shoulders) the only thing I can do is wear a pony tail as there is no longer weight to hold them down >_<
oh and I hate wet weather, they I have huge mess on my head. But then again - I think I have started to love my mess :D

You'd look cute with bangs.
That'd be so wrong.  :P

BTW. your avvie is awesome. Once again.

why would it be wrong?  ???

thankies.... I sat there and spent whole 5 mins to make my ava  ;D I tried really really hard.....

Ok, I suppose some of you are going o school at the moment ( uni do not count for purposes of this question) -  is the only thing you have to do to get a diploma is to show up for graduation?
I do get a feeling that these students I have right now got their diplomas just for showing up at graduation.
I do not get how can people be so clueless and think its mean to get a lower grade for submitting their paper after the submission time. AND I was generous I even extended submission time by week AND told them that they will get lower grade if they will miss this second date. I even reminded then to submit their papers few times and the excuse they came up with is - oh I forgot, maybe will submit it later if I have a time for it.....morrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrons

Looks good... now try to use it seriously :P (I'd paste a snippet from my current project, but I have no serious-but-still-weird-looking code to share – yet)

Anyway, leaving that here for amusement:
Code: C++ [Select]
// nondeterministic_output.cpp
#include <iostream>

int main()
{
    uint i;
    while(i --> 0) std::cout << i << "\r\n";
    return i;

Don't stress over it. Work like how you do your job. You, of all people, I respect the most. Educators are less respected in this day and age. Just do what you need to do and if they don't want to work hard for their future, then give them the grade they earned. Don't over think it, don't be soft at heart. If they ask "why" then tell them what they need to hear. :P

They do that because they don't respect you so they think they can blow you off and just walk all over you. It's a core personality thing that people instinctively see and prey upon.

You'll notice how some classes can have the same students and be like a wild circus but then you put a different teacher in there and suddenly it's like they fear for their lives and are perfectly behaved model students. It's the persona you give off and your presence. If you have a weak demeanor they'll just trample all over you.

Be an alpha. Make examples of anyone that steps out of line. You can joke around and be a little carefree but you also have to be stern, serious, and strict. You can't take any shit. Get advice from other teachers you know do well. In the end it's all about how the students perceive you.

It might help you to take some cognitive/social psychology and/or maybe something for public speaking.

Trying to back up one of my hard drives (with 983GB of data) onto my new external, but Windows seems disinclined to let me just use the copy and paste commands. It keeps hanging randomly partway through for no apparent reason ¬_¬

So I've had to fall back to the old MSDOS command "xcopy" instead, which - after a few false starts - is working really well. It's quite amusing how this ancient command line program is still far superior to the functionality included in Windows explorer, several decades on. It's faster, more flexible, and seems to be much more reliable too (no crashes yet). So much for modern technology, I guess.

Hasn't robocopy replaced xcopy?

Anywho, one of the first things I install on Windows is Teracopy. I can't stand the native copy operations for the reason you mentioned :P
