Trying to back up one of my hard drives (with 983GB of data) onto my new external, but Windows seems disinclined to let me just use the copy and paste commands. It keeps hanging randomly partway through for no apparent reason ¬_¬
So I've had to fall back to the old MSDOS command "xcopy" instead, which - after a few false starts - is working really well. It's quite amusing how this ancient command line program is still far superior to the functionality included in Windows explorer, several decades on. It's faster, more flexible, and seems to be much more reliable too (no crashes yet). So much for modern technology, I guess.
