So...you're turning into the USA?
Or at least Alabama?
Nah, Violence and Drinking is part of finnish culture, if I dare to say so.
Knives and Axes are popular weapons here. Firearms aren't as popular, but tend to cause a bigger problem, so it is more likely to be in the news.
Some of the dead ppl they have found have been missing for few months already or died probably under the influence of alcohol. Accidents are accidents and fit within the error marginal and it is a fact that there are a lot more immigrants and escapees now days.
Axe and Knife, Drunk fights and dissapperances are quite common here, so not all of them are even visible in news. Only the cases that stand out make it into news
+ You're bound to have disappearances in a country where there lives about 5 persons in a square kilometer, we have a lot of lakes and swamps and helluva lot of woods.
Finns really like to drunk, and as we generally are depressed, shy and silent, we tend to get a bit more aggressive, louder and less shy when drunk (this in general and varies a lot) So, fights in the line for food or in line for Taxis or else are quite common, beating your family in drunk is nothing new.
And I hardly know anyone over here who DOESN'T own an hatchet or a knife, most of people own both. Even in the cities.
So what can I say, accidents happen?
