I think 'Citizen Kane' is a boring, shitty, movie.
BUT! I respect its place in cinema history.
Same goes for the Bee Gees, most of Green Day's stuff, and the original Astro Boy.


Another thing:
Finally saw 'Man of Steel'.
Not sure how I feel about it.
It LOOKED great, and the new guy did pretty well for the role, but there were some REALLY off putting things about it.

About loud thumpy music and my not considering it music... To me, it's just loud and annoying, kinda like my home alarm or a 3 year old banging pans together trying to make some kind of rhythm, but all it is is that loud annoying nonsensical crap.

I'll tell you what I can't stand though: Screamo.

Not really to my tastes either, some AC/DC and Zeppelin songs I enjoy though. And you are safe from scrutiny, Burk already said he didn't like the Beatles, clearly there are no sacred cows here. XD

Another thing:

I don't blame you for thinking that way, most of the older people I know, and even a lot of people my age don't have any appreciation for electronic music. it's a new type of music genre; it doesn't mesh with what type of sounds most people of the older generation have associated with music. A lot of people don't realize how much  talent and skill goes into making this kind of music.

What I usually listen to is the opposite side of the spectrum of electronic as to what Metro listens to. You may not like it, but I hope you can at least learn to appreciate it for what it is; music.

I love trance and electronic. Up beating, unique and Vocaloid honors such music. Vocaloid concerts are beyond badass. And that's where our generation is headed regardless of people's opinions. Horizon anime is a good example.

I decided to finally watch this Emma series, I'm on season 2. I liked season 1 a lot more but can't judge much about both of them. On episode 4.

Yeah,  I thought she was pretty cool, even her ending.
It was kind of funny, and she wasn't ass annoying as other version of her.

I can't stand Dragonforce, or most 'speed metal', I think it sounds like crap.
Agreed, I think.

What's even WORSE are bands like Korn who COULD be amazing, but rarely are.
John Davis has a GREAT voice, when he's not mumbling or almost rapping or screaming.
But he rarely uses it, and it's a real shame.

It is, but it's sure as hell could have used some better pacing, it would have probably been better if it were longer.
-Maybe a 'D.C.' version will come out with like a hour of extra footage.

Also, it's kind of 'dark'.
Like Superman:TAS ending dark, and doesn't 'feel' as hopefully as the Reed (and even Return) felt/should feel.

I have immense respect for good rock music. Johnny Marr, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and a a bunch more that lean towards metal (Judas Priest, Maiden.) Are all great.

Because I don't like a few of your favorite bands doesn't mean my music taste is bad. My music taste is perfect, because I have to live with it.

And I reserve the right to not like something AND not respect it.

I only don't like most music with those artificial beats that overshadow everything else. The songs would be just perfect if those beats were moved to the background. Also one of the major reasons I'm avoiding clubs and parties most of the time. I can do without teh headaches and feeling my bones resonating with every single beat 

That said, there is quite a lot of amazing electronic music, it's just not what you hear as mainstream music...

That's a bit of an oxymoron there. Either you think it is music, or you think it isn't music. Which is it?

As for me, there is music I think is good, and music I think is bad. But as the quality of music, like all forms of art, is entirely subjective, I completely understand that other people may hold a different opinion to me, and I tend not to bitch about it if they like something I don't. You cannot objectively say that this piece of music is good, and this other piece of music is bad, no matter how old or how popular that music is.

Not all judgments are the same though. Factual judgments (e.g. the Earth is round), value judgments (e.g. killing is bad) and aesthetic judgments (e.g. Miyazaki's movies are amazing) are of completely different types and should be treated differently.

So I forgot to turn on my blu-tooth earbuds at work today at one point and my Nexus 4 was playing The Reluctant Heroes from Attack on Titan pretty loud. I decided to get down and dance away with it for about 15 seconds or so before I paused it and turned on my blu-tooth. I did all that in front of my co-workers. That felt good.
