The worst subject, including university and grad school....... was high school geometry.

My mind just does not do that shit. Holy fuck...
As soon as I hit geometry I got bored. It was a stupid class in all.

Geometry is easy as long as you can memorize a bunch of formulas

Ech, it depends. From a theoretical aspect, all math is easy at the level it is taught to people. Because the problems are reduced to their essence.

Not so when you have to apply math to real life. There is a difference, after all between solving an optics problem in a textbook and creating the optics to be used in say the Hubble telescope. Just as how you can pretty much expect a half decent undergrad to be capable of solving the Schroedinger equation for say the Hydrogen atom, that doesn't actually imply that he'll be capable of doing it for a Uranium atom.

Memorizing formulas is bad. When you understand them, you don't need to memorize them.
Don't just assume that you are right. Verify with the best tools available and if you are wrong, change your mind and you will become right.

Nope, ain't useful either. You have to memorize them and have the ability to understand them. Understanding alone is far too unskilled and inefficient.

There is a reason why it is said, that one needs 10 000 hours to master a skill or a tool. Understanding is certainly part of the ordeal, but that's not the whole of it. I understand how engines work, I understand how a saxophone plays sounds or how transistors work. That does not imply that I have the skillset to build an engine for a race car, build an i7 or put on a sax show in my local concert hall.

^ See now there's a good example...there's not point trying to understand reduction formulas, because even if you do, it simply won't get you anywhere. There are some things you just have to memorize.

I actually decided to learn calculus by choice. Like it wasn't part of my program whatsoever but I went to the administration and convinced the guy responsible for the courses we make that I absolutely want to learn calculus and that it's gonna be super useful and all.

My mom called me this morning and said she thinks she broke her leg last night so I went over and took a look at it. It was kinda bruised and scraped a bit but it wasn't a displaced fracture. I didn't wanna mess with it though if it was actually fractured so I called a friend and drove her in and got some x-rays on her knee and took a look at it. No fractures, so I did some tests (ligament stuff), all negative. It was just a bad contusion. Poor mom~

It'll be sore for a few days but it'll heal up just fine.

Since we were like 2 miles away from that Best Buy that has the two keyboards I needed to try out switches on I went ahead and stopped there and went in and tried them out while we were up there in the area.

She asked what I was doing... I explained that I was looking at keyboards and that I didn't want one from there and how I was just testing the mechanical switches to see if I liked how the various different ones felt... She just looked right at me, called me a nerd, and told me I need to hang out with her more... >_<

lol gotta love her.

When people tell me that, I go "What, you jealous?" or I say "Proud to be one!".
