In that case...sleep. Sleep lots.

I'm sleep-deprived too. Or woman-deprived.

You don't have a microwave? That's how I always boil my water.

That's... Genius. Why do I bother with my kettle when I have a perfectly good microwave?

Because boiling water in a microwave is potentially dangerous.

There is a rare phenomenon with some glasses where if you boil the water in a microwave, the glass doesn't offer any proper surface for bubbles to form while it's heating such that it can overheat without boiling. When you take the glass, the water gets disturbes and it causes all the extra heat to be released as vapor in one shot and there is a risk that you could be splashed with boiling water. It's the reason why many people are against using microwaves to boil water.

Just putting a stick of wood or your pocket of tea in the water while it's boiling will provide a surface for the bubbles to form and completely nullify the risk.

Or you could just wait 2 minutes before you pick up your glass.

Microwaving your teabags, let alone sticking a chunk of wood in your tea, would be considered a big enough heresy to see you burned at the stake, where I'm from.

Actually probably here in Japan, too. They like their tea even more than us Brits.

That's why I always tap a long spoon on the surface of the cup from as far away as possible to break the surface which if it were super heated would cause it to explode rather than putting it down on my counter and staring down at it so it can explode right in my face and all over my body.

With my method, at the worst it might get my hand a little, but potentially not even that.

It only really happens if you're using a brand new glass container that is like almost perfectly smooth and bubbles can't form. If you have an older mug you've heated plenty of times before without it exploding then you can pretty much assume it should be fine. I still test it every time anyways... :P

However the brew you brits are drinking is hardly what I would call tea. Yes, there I said it. Put more sugar and milk than the actual tea and there you go: "English tea"
For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

Well if you are super traditionalist I guess microwaves aren't for you at all.

Me I just let the water cook with the tea bag in cause I'm lazy.

Mmm milk tea is so tasty (because I love milk).

I heard that if you put milk in tea or coffee, the benefits of tea/coffee is blocked out because of the proteins in the milk.
