I right clicked on the drive in This PC then went to something like security, advanced, advanced, then up at the top where it said the ownership I clicked the Change button then typed in Tiff then it found my user then I let it go and it took like 2 freakin' hours to change the permissions for the entire drive.

This thing copies stuff over abysmally slow... I mean, if I could accelerate the normal HDD's that'd be nice but I don't think it'd make them go much faster since they still depend on their original RPM and it can't magically make things faster than they can be accessed with the platters.

I FINALLY got my Firefox transferred over. I stupidly didn't put it on my external or anything, except for some Speed Dial & bookmark backups... so having all my add-ons and stuff back is nice.

Wake up today, look at the clock and see it's 5.30 am. I jump up from bed in panic wondering how the hell did I forget setting my alarm clock? With very little time to get ready for work I kind of hate myself for being so sloppy.

Then when I already have my clothes on, I suddenly realize: ITS FUCKING SATURDAY!!!!!

The real question is how the hell did I get up at 5.30am in the morning without any alarm at all?
For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

You felt the movement of the force due to StarCraft finals?

Or you could have setup Firefox sync...

BTW. If you have any parallel copying from the same disk going on. It slows down exponentially becuase windows drivers just suck in optimising the drive usage under such conditions for some unfathomable reason.

Because we can!

Yeah, you're right about that. It goes down from like 50MB/s to like 1mb/s if there's multiple ones and then additional ones are at like 40kb/s which is totally ridiculous. xD

Circadian rhythm of course. The body's natural alarm clock.  ;)

edit: Oh and in other news I watched After Earth yesterday. God, that was stupid... I mean, the movie itself was okay but the entire thing was just centered around this stupid ass kid that doesn't listen to fucking anything, lies, and is a total fucking moron... It was like that little afro kid in The Day The Earth Stood Still or that retarded son in the TV series V. There are few things that annoy me more than that archetype of character.

World War Z on the other hand was pretty decent. Oh and Kick Ass 2 was pretty funny. Actually even better than the first I think. Hit Girl is so badass, gotta love her.

H ow ra ndom w as t ha t.

About as random as every dissatisfied 14 year old with an internet connection.

Interresting stuff. I have been watching videos from an primatologist called Richard Wrangham who thinks that part of what allowed humans to thrive is their ability to cook. According to him, when starch is cooked, it increases its digestibility such that a larger portion of the calories it contains are absorbed by the human body and a smaller amount of energy is used to digest it.

He sites quite a few evidences too. He says that it's partly why rawfoodists are so tin even when they eat a lot, so tin in fact than many rawfoodist women stop having their periods from being underfed. He says also that if you measure the amount of glucose in the blood of someone who just ate uncooked starch versus cooked starch, the glucose curve in the one who eats cooked starch raises a lot higher. He says that rats, pigs, fishes and farm animals who are fed cooked plants tend to grow faster than those who eat un-cook food.  And finally, his says that if you collect the waste food from the poop sack of patients who have had an Hemicolectomy, you can measure a lot more undigested carbs than you normally find in human poop, which suggests that the intestinal flora might be eating a large part of the starch from uncooked food.

There's a reason why we only have a single stomache and why our digestive tract is as small as it is.

Cooked food is easier to digest, thus we can allocate a far higher percentage of our energy and time to different regions of the body and different occupations. We as a species developed our abilities purely because our bodies don't have a need to maintain 4 stomaches and that we don't have to eat for roughly 12 hours a day just to provide ourselves with enough energy like cows do.

afternoon naps are awesome, but come with their 'consequences'... slept right from 1 to 6 in the evening... now its close to 12 am and I don't feel sleepy at all ( contrary to my usual 'sleepyness' which starts by 10)

Sure, although I could see how this knowledge could be to do the exact opposite. Rawfoodists (as defined by those who eat more than 70% uncook food) are obviously not triving on their diet with 1/3 of their women not even getting enough energy from their diet to menstruate, but maybe moderately increasing the percentage of uncook food in their diet could help obese people lose the extra fat.

Well nothing new there. It means more fresh fruits and veggies.

Just figured out why my connection has been dying the past few days after I installed Windows 8.1 to the computer outside. My sister has been downloading anime like .. she's fucking hording the internet and uploading like a madgirl to people she doesn't know. I'm like "where's the green guy (PIA)? and where is Proxy?" ... her "Uh ... Proxy doesn't work. Green guy doesn't show up."

I sat down with her and showed her where to locate them and how to make them "pop". Then I showed her how to set up the scripted proxy. Then I gave her tokyotosho and AniDB and coalgirls besides BBT (apparently she's got an account on here) and showed her how to pick out anime and to look for production/producers/sequels/prequels/etc. She's all hyped up. She's got Koi Chocolate, Death Note, Gargantia (she likes it and she's on the last episode, she didn't know there were 2 more episodes), Uh ... O... OruShuya I think? And a whole bunch of other things. She wants a hard drive now ... lol.

Oh yea, I mentioned HanaSaku Iroha movie to her and she went ahead and started downloading that.

Now ... back to real computer anime life. Where was I here ...

Well nothing new there. It means more fresh fruits and veggies.

Rawfoodists to me are simply a new species of annoying hipsters, that managed think up a new stupid way to justify their own self-righteousness. Just like any other group like this, it is to my greatest anguish that the current medical outlook requires at least attempting to save everyone, for I would love to see them leave the human gene pool. After all, they clearly know better than the medical establishment.

As to the second part. If you are overweight? Yes. That is probably one of the better ways to lose some extra weight without doing anything that could be classified as harmful to your body.

However, in practice, you're just stuffing it with "empty" stuff. The exact same result can be achieved by simply eating less. If you HAVE to eat, certainly, stuffing yourself with something like a cabbage that essentially has no nutritional value in it, will not make you gain any weight and it will make you feel full. Furthermore the whole "boiling" thing only really applies to really starchy sorts of food, like potatoes or beans, most of which you don't actually eat raw. You're not going to gain a lot of weight by eating boiled cabbages just as you aren't by eating raw cabbages.

Now then, I'm not saying that one shouldn't eat raw veggies. They have plenty of their own advantages without this, a good example is actually having the ability to take a dump. I'm just saying that choosing a diet that's 70% raw vegetables just because you can is stupid. Everything in moderation is key, with everything.

How's it going for everyone? It's been awhile since I last posted on the forums.
A really long time. What did I miss?
