I don't understand how there's always a few students in any class who have less than 20% averages.
For the same reason there's a few students in any class who have more than 80% average?
No, I mean they just squarely make grades less than 15% in tests and such, as if there's always a few potential dropouts in ever single class.
Some students just don't care. Others are too scared to explain what they do not understand, nor do they look for help. One reason why I appreciate college so much is related to that... for the most part, everyone who's there wants to be there, and you reap what you sow. You need help? Go get it. You failed a test? Study harder. My college chem class is difficult and you need to do a lot of out of class studying to get good grades, and that's just how it is. No grade inflation, no extra cred (at least, in my chem class).
Anyway, doesn't this have to do with the bell curve, or something? I never took statistics.
