Trains are the best. I can sleep easily on train noise.

Any noise that is consistent is fine by me. That's why I keep this moderately loud fan that's blowing on my externals on 24/7. This computer is silent as it is.

sounds...wonderful. *brews some lotus tea*

I used to be able to sleep with any noise going on, but lately, the slightest sound hurts my ears. I can't sleep with music on anymore! ;_;

The real question is, how is anyone able to sleep WITH music on? I tried that once and I just wanted to stay up and keep listening.

Guess that depends on what kind of music you're listening to :p I only really sleep with music on while I'm traveling, it's a really good way to shut out all the outside noise. Suprisingly enough I get some of the most satisfying sleep ever while I'm traveling. >_<

Definitely depends on the type of music that's playing. I could sleep to classical music (and no, I wouldn't be falling asleep from boredom), but not something super peppy. For the most part I just like the gentle sound of a fan when I go to sleep.

I try not to fall asleep while traveling, especially when I'm alone, unless I'm in a car or something with people I trust. Then again I am a young, cute girl and must fend off advances of wolves, so it makes sense for me to have my guard up....

I don't know how some people fall asleep to white noise... gives me a headache, personally

That's lame of him.

Anyway, doesn't this have to do with the bell curve, or something? I never took statistics.

In high school? (We were talking about teens not getting math.)

I know we were... Lots of teens I know took statistics in high school... and I had an Physics teacher in 9th grade who once implemented the bell curve to an assignment once (in a group project, only one group could get an A. The group with the lowest score got a D, even if it was A quality work... because someone had to fail).

Different countries, different systems, different teachers, I suppose

In my case it doesn't really matter what kind of music it is if I'm traveling. As I dose of I tend to not hear the music anymore but it makes it so that I won't be waken up because of other random noises. Once it was pretty awesome tho, I fell asleep in front of my computer with Starcraft 2 commentary going on in the background and I could still hear the voices in my dream, made for a pretty intense dream lol.  You're right to be on your guard on public transportation, I've seen enough asian porn to know where that could be headed. ^^

hmm, I am not sure xD my kind of music is stuff like nujabes. I've tried sleeping to calming sounds like the ocean, too. But nope!

So my prof decided to say fuck it to like half the questions on our midterm, and took them directly off the practice questions.

Why yes, I can look at that and tell you dead loss is 24.

Ignore the fact I did zero calculations and am happy it's a multiple choice question.

I'm gunna leave you anyway.

I just check out Nujabes for the first time just to see what all the hubba was about. It sounds real good to my ear holes. Too much info? Maybe. Good stuff and I'm not a person who listens to hip hop. I really enjoyed World's End Rhapsody because I'm into instrumental stuff and not so much vocals.

*pats misty* there, there. *hug hug* (don't worry I'm kinda squishy)

~nyann.  I am in heaven. :) :)

Right. Another two tests today. Let's see how these go.

On that note I can sleep with almost any kinda music on. But I haven't done that in quite a long time. Probably since it's not noisy near my new room and I can fall asleep without any interference.

A friend has a pinched nerve that started on her left shoulder, radiated to her neck and then came down to her arm. she has been in pain for over 20 hours. :( She took ibuprofen, put ice on it, took a hot bath, tried icy hot pad over it, and still nothing. I suggested to keep taking ibuprofen and massage; she's going to see a doctor this week.  Anyone have any suggestions to help alleviate the pain?

massage wont help, maybe a little to ease the radiation pain for a short while but I doubt it
a nerve impinchment in the shoulder is too deep for ice to numb the pain or to counter an inflammation
ibuprofen is indeed the best option temporarily
she should see a physiotherapist as soon as possible

Yeah I hear drugs are the best way to cover it up. I'm pretty sure you need to actually see someone about that though, idk though. I'm not a doktor.
